Early morn today, i sent a text message, a birthday greetings to Manang. She replied, thank you, and exclaimed that she is old- getting older Manang. You are not old enough to be called old:-), i thought.
Manang and I are not that close. She is my oldest sister. The age gap we had is maybe the reason she can't get closer with me. And so, me to her. She is ten years older than me. When i was in high school, she got married to a young man. After three years, she went to Manila and stayed there until now. She didn't visit us since then. Calling and texting are our ways of keeping in touch with her. I used to call her Manang and my brother, Manong, instead of Ate and Kuya. That's how what my parents taught me.
Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Manang.
