Be Green

“I just entered to win a trip to Brazil for UNEP’s World Environment Day 2012. Read my blog post and discover how the Green Economy includes you.”

I am a nature lover. I adore greenish mountains so much.
Everytime, I hear the place, Siargao, one thing comes out
from my mind is their virgin mountains- so green and fresh.
And their clear seawater, white sand and enticing beaches.

As a Teacher, I play a vital role
in sustaining a Green Economy. I do believe, advocating green economy
must start
teaching the young ones maintaining the place
suitable to live
until the end,  for they are the hope of the motherland.

I always reminded them not to
throw grabage anywhere like seas, streets, ground
and canals resulted dirty and smelly place to
live. Thus, garbage must
dump in the garbage bin. Another,  I always inculcate in
their minds the bad effects of too much throwing garbage to
the ground, sea, and canal. Lastly, I taught them
the proper segregation of garbage. As it is strictly implemented in our
school and in the community.

As a citizen, I participated to any Clean-Up program in our place.
And even in our purok, we had a clean-up day every Sunday.

These are basic ways yet the most important
things a man should know in sustaining a greener place...
a greener community... and a greener world.
