Alert Level 1
It rained cats and dogs. It was very cold.
I was lazy to get up early due to the bad weather. I was hoping that there’ll be no class. It was 7:00 0’clock when a parent came to my house and asked if there is a class. I told her, “Yes, since there was no news of suspension of classes due to heavy rains.” She said, “Can I bring back home my two grandchildren?” I agreed to her because they lived in neighboring barangay. It is quite far. She went to her grandchildren. And I returned to my bed, still hoping that there’ll be no class. For about five minutes, she returned and informed me that her two grandchildren will stay since they brought their “baon” for lunch. I replied, “OK”. Aged person can’t really decide which is which.
I fixed my bed. Boiled water and went to the bathroom. I wore my uniform. Sipped my coffee. Hoping that there’ll be no classes. Suddenly, my co-teacher called out and informed me the news just announced from the radio. The mayor declared suspension of classes in elementary level due to the low pressure area. The city is under alert level 1.
Well, what would I say? The mayor just heard my sentiments.
