Silop Cave

Are you an adventurous person? Do you like exploring cave? If so, then, what were the most favorite scene you won't forget inside the cave?

I revisited, for the third time, the Silop Cave. It is located in Barangay Silop, Surigao City. There are three caves in Barangay Silop. The cave number 1 is temporarily closed because bats needed a safe home. They don't want to be disturbed.

Actually, I was not alone in exploring the second cave and the third cave. But, before we enter the caves, we asked permission first from the Barangay Official. For safety precaution, two guides deployed to abide with us in exploring the caves.

Cave # 2
Cave number 2 is smaller than cave number 1. Cave #2 is for the ordinary explorer like us.

Here are some photos inside the cave:

Pause for a while before entering the cave

 Descending slowly

oopppsss I can see dark part over there

Below are the reasons of this exlporation:

 Heading to bat's chamber

ascending exit slowly

this way to exit
Whew! What a tour! Entrance and exit has different way in cave #2

Cave # 3 (Underwater)

 The entrance of cave #3

Below are scenes inside the cave #3

We didn't totally explore the cave #3. The guide said, we have to swim and some part are deep. It is not advisable for kids and for (me) not swimmers. Of course, I don't want to put my life in danger. The feeling of being in the cave which is amazing, that's enough for me. One thing that helped me to decline not to pursue the exploration is the thought of crawling snakes. It is kinda eewwww, you know. I don't want to see huge snakes inside the cave. Bats and its smell are bearable but not with the snakes.

BTW, thank you very much for visiting my "little home".
Stay blessed and happy!

It was so fun and great to be in Silop Cave again with friends and three guides hehehe
The exotic formation of stone in the cave...

It wasn't easy for us to go down...the rocks were slippery...notice xiang, she needed assistance.

rocks, firefly and falling drops of water...

one last pose before totally left the cave...

Unplanned

My wacky friends and I are still in the state of feeling adventurous. After playing with the beaches last April, now, they wanna try the so called extreme event. (hayaan mo na)

Xiang invited us to be with her sister’s house in brgy. Silop yesterday (to attend fiesta). Without knowing the other plan planned by my two other friends, mimi and ann, I went with them (bonding moment daw). On the way, heading for brgy. Silop, they discussed their plan of visiting Silop…they wanna revisit the Silop Cave. (Ows?)

We first visited the cave last 2000. it was 9 years ago..hmmm their plan is not bad. I could still recall those times we climbed the stony cave. We bathed by our own sweat… we smelled the awful smell of bats’ waste..but was so fun and great experience for each of us (never mind the awful smell)…

I spotted some changes after 9 years heading for the cave. Before, there was no stairs going to the cave. You have to pass through the narrow, grassy and climbed stony pathway. And the road was not yet developed. Now, I notice some workers worked on the road. I also spotted some changes. Before, two elementary children guided us in entering the cave. Now, 3 teenagers guide us. Before, we ask the permission of the barangay captain before exploring the cave. Now, we explore the cave secretly. Before, we had no chance of taking pictures. Now, taking pics is one of our main purposes of exploring the cave---for updating our file. So hilarious…can’t imagine I have wacky and funny friends. So great having them. They make my world colorful. two common things happened before and now are, we still bathed by our own sweat and the awful smell of bats’ waste is still awful.

Here are some pics:
