Revisiting Magpupungko

I was in Pilar, Siargao Island last May 2009 with college friends. That time, Pilar was not yet given a priority by the local government. Last April 30, 2012, I revisited the said place. There was a little difference on the setting of place the first time I visited it than today.

The main tourists attraction in Pilar is the so-called Magpupungko. It is called Magpupungko because of the big rock squatting another rock. Confusing? Take a look at this photo.

I was with Rose and Neophe. Rose and Neophe live near Pilar. We rode motorcycle heading to Pilar. We used the motorcycle of Rose, but, Neophe was the driver. And me was the back rider. I guess we spent more than 30 minutes on the road before we reach Magpupungko. Not all roads are concrete. Mostly are rough roads so better bring hat/cap or anything that can cover your face  to avoid eating all the dust heading Pilar.

 Unfortunately, I have not witnessed the real meaning of magpupungko. It is because everytime I visit the place, it is not low tide. Magpupungko is best place to visit if it is low tide.

where are you, vacation?

as i recall the things i did last summer, it was so different of today. last year, we went to Siargao Island. Island hopping was the game. but now, no island hopping, no vacation tour, no vacation at all! oh how  so elusive vacation is! if only i could turn back the time (by using the time machine...lol).

good news is, two of my good friends gonna tie-a-knot this month. they wanna live a more chaotic life hahaha...just kidding!

Pansukian Tropical Resort in Siargao

Thanks to the caretaker of the resort because she gave us time (5minutes) to tour the resort (since the owner was not around)..lol..for free.

We visited the room where Madam President Gloria Arroyo stayed when she visited the island last April 2008. I found out from the mouth of the caretaker that the Ayala and Lopez Family spent their days in Pansukian Tropical Resort. Hhmmm bigtime pala itichzz!!!

Should i considered myself lucky enough? kapantay ko na si President, Lopez at Ayala just for 5minutes...lol
